Kingwood, is a master planned community in northeast Houston. It began as a development project of Friendswood Development Company (a former subsidiary of Exxon) and the famous King Ranch. The first homes were built in 1971, and Kingwood continues to grow today. Kingwood was annexed by the City of Houston in 1996 and is now fully integrated with city services. Kingwood is primarily a quite, secure residential community; however, there is ample shopping and some light industry as well.
Kingwood is known as “The Livable Forest”.
Conveniently located on US 59/I-69, Kingwood enjoys easy access to George Bush Intercontinental Airport and major traffic arteries such as FM 1960, Sam Houston Tollway/Beltway 8 and I-45. In addition to a beautiful, wooded setting, Kingwood offers public education provided by the Humble ISD as well as several parks and libraries.
The majority of homes in Kingwood are single family, with prices ranging from the low $100’s to the low millions. Townhouses and condos are rare in Kingwood, but when available they run from under $100K to $170K.
