West Houston includes some of Houston’s most affluent neighborhoods, with average household income almost twice the national average. This area features the natural beauty of Memorial Park, a very popular place for runners, bikers, and family outings, as well as the mansions of River Oaks. It also includes the area known as Upper Kirby with its high rise condominiums, shopping, and entertainment.
West Houston’s boundaries are, generally speaking, I-10 on the north, I-610 to the west, I-45 on the east side, and US 59 on the south side. While traffic in the area can be challenging, residents who both live and work in the area have commutes that can be as little at 16 minutes on average. This makes West Houston a highly desirable area, and
homes offered for sale do not stay on the market for long.
There are homes available in every construction type, and there is a fair inventory of rentals available. Rentals range from the rare bargain of $1,000 to a high of $16,000. Condominiums, townhouses, and high rise residences range from just under $200K to over $5MM. Single family homes range from just under $300K to $4.9MM, with some premium properties commanding even higher prices.
